Step into a vintage living room of nostalgia at the Grange Hall,
where film will come alive in real time!
Open Reel is an ongoing video installation and community archive project led by Circuit Arts creative director Danielle Mulcahy, offering a rare opportunity to watch film preservation and digitization happen live.
Visitors are invited to bring their own 16mm, 8mm, or Super 8 films (no VHS) to be cleaned, repaired, and digitized on site. As Danielle works, the footage is projected in the lobby, creating a shared viewing experience where preservation and presentation happen simultaneously.
Open Reel celebrates film as both a personal artifact and a communal record. Whether you stop by to watch archival transfers, explore vintage footage, or simply soak in the nostalgic living room setup, there’s something to enjoy for everyone.
