This intimate documentary follows Harry Belafonte through the final twelve years of his life, as the singer, actor, and civil-rights icon remains deeply engaged in the fight for justice while well into his eighth and ninth decades. From the aftermath of Trayvon Martin’s death to the protests in Ferguson and the Women’s March, the film captures Belafonte on the front lines of social change, mentoring young activists and urging them to carry forward the work of previous generations. Blending moments of public action with quiet, revealing conversations at home, the film also offers rare access to Belafonte’s personal reflections on race, responsibility, legacy, and aging. At once inspiring and deeply human, this is a portrait of a man who never stopped asking hard questions or demanding accountability, even as he prepared to pass the torch.

Tickets for these screenings are general-admission and pay-what-you-can.
The suggested ticket price is $20. If you can pay more, we greatly appreciate it!

  • “Each generation must be responsible for itself. All I can do is leave behind the crumbs of my experience. I have a trail that you can follow; if you find value in it, pick it up, and if you don’t, bring something better.”
