Dir. Meghan L. O’HaraDocumentary | U.S.A. | 2016 | 89 min.

SATURDAY, March 19, 11:00 a.m. - Chilmark School

Discussion to follow (via Skype) with director Meghan O'Hara; moderated by Don Berwick, former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

From executive producer Morgan Freeman comes The C Word, a bold new film that will forever change the way we view cancer. Director Meghan O’Hara and neuroscientist Dr. David Servan-Schreiber join forces to expose systemic failings in our modern lifestyle which predispose us to disease. Following O’Hara and Servan-Schreiber on their individual journeys from diagnosis to wellness, the film stresses that “the way we live influences the way we die.” Drawing on existing medical literature, industry practice, and personal narrative, the film provides us with concrete tools to take immediate action to reclaim our health and improve our outcomes.

Dr. Donald M. Berwick, former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, will moderate the post-screening discussion. He has served as a clinical professor of pediatrics and healthcare policy at Harvard Medical School, a professor of health policy and management at the Harvard School of Public Health, and as a staff member at Boston Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Thank you to the screening sponsor
