English and German, with English subtitles

FRIDAY, March 18, 9:15 p.m. - Chilmark Community Center

Taking home two awards at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, this heartwarming coming-of-age comedy follows Morris, a slightly overweight 13-year-old, and his single father, Curtis (Craig Robinson of The Office). To complicate matters, the father-son duo are new residents and the only African Americans in the city of Heidelberg, Germany. While his dad is off at work, Morris goes to a youth center, awkwardly pretends to be a gangster rapper, and falls in love with an older German girl. Their relationship takes him on a journey of self-discovery that ultimately brings him back to his father.
