How lucky are we! Affordable, farm-to-table meals will once again be prepared by Robert Lionette of Morning Glory Farm. The CCC kitchen will be open for dinner Thursday and Friday nights, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Lighter fare like Morning Glory Farm popcorn with MV Sea Salt, and scones and other baked goods from Pie Chicks, can be found in the Hay Café, where Todd Christy of Chilmark Coffee Company will also be serving up fresh cups of joe. Share a nourishing meal with friends, filmmakers, and the community at our long tables!

Intermissions are an essential part of your MVFF experience. While you give your eyes a break between screenings, we hope you will hang out in the Hay Café, listen to live music, and enjoy the conversation. Musical performers include local musicians The PickPocket Bluegrass Band (above), Jeremy Berlin, and Nate D’Angelo. This year we are also thrilled to introduce you to the musical mastery of professional violinist Katharina Giegling from Germany!

Other performers that will be playing at the Hay Cafe: Jelly Bone Rivers and the Maniacs of the Heart, Mint House, Mrs. Biskis, David Hannon w/ Buck Shank, Wes Nagy, Griffin McMahon, Black Brook Singers and High School Student Open Mix

Katharina Giegling is a concert violinist, soloist, concertmaster, violin teacher, and music educator at academies and conservatories. She graduated  from  the  solo master class of the Leipzig Academy of Music and Theater in July 2013, and also earned an artistic performance degree from the Freiburg Music Academy, where she studied with Gottfried von der Goltz.

Singer, songwriter, Nate D’Angelo began writing songs and playing out at venues from the age of 13. He has opened for acts like GroupLove, Ellis Paul, and Shun Ng, and has played the MV Sound and Club Passim’s Campfire festivals. He has been praised by renowned songwriter Jason Blume for his profound lyrics and unique style.

Guitarist Alex Karalekas describes himself as a “songsmith, surfer, fisherman and shingler.” He is well known for hosting the Chilmark Community Potluck Jams and performs at venues across the island year round. He shares his Dylan-esque approach to his writing, producing insightful, and genuine lyrics.

Andy Herr began a musical career early with training in both classical piano and traditional Irish and folk strings. He now competently performs a variety of styles and genres on many instruments, and teaches in both private and group settings on Martha’s Vineyard in MA. He splits the rest of his time between helping manage the small music store and producing music events on the island.

Dana Edelman started performing on the New England circuit in the late 90’s and received much support from local roots radio stations. He relocated to New York in 2001 and was signed to Segue Records, an independent label that dissolved just before his Segue produced CD was released. In 2010, Dana released his latest full-length CD “Blue Roses” to fine reviews and national airplay on roots-based stations.

Fireside Chats

This year, we’ve created a space that allows you to dig deeper, talk about taking action, and brainstorm creative ways to address the complex matters that affect us all. Not to mention that it’s fun to sit around a fire and get to know one another. Just head over to the fire pit and join the conversation. A fireside chat icon indicates which screenings will have one afterwards.
