TEMPORARY SYNOPSIS- With Baseball, it’s all for the love of the game. “The Battered Bastards of Baseball” documents one of the great true stories about America’s underdog—the Portland, Oregon Mavericks of 1973. Hollywood’s Bing Russell bought a field and created the only independant single-A team in the US, being told it would never work. Gathering the attention and desire of players nationwide, Bing’s team of misfits was soon climbing the ranks and playing ball with the Majorleagues, proving to themselves, and our nation, that independent spirit can beat the odds.
