FUN WITH FILMMAKING
These one-hour classes allow students to learn the basics of video production through various activities, including green-screen games, stop-motion animation, and documentary filmmaking.
The Martha's Vineyard Boys & Girls Club
- Mondays or Fridays, 4–5 p.m. Register here.
Vineyard Haven Public Library
- Tuesdays, 4–5 p.m., starting October 22. This is a drop-in class, recommended for ages 7+.
Oak Bluffs Public Library
- Thursdays, 4-5 p.m., starting October 17. This is a drop-in class, recommended for ages 7+.
This class will spend 5 weeks creating an original film from start to finish. Students collaborate to create characters, a cohesive story arc, and a logical resolution. Using the basics of video production and performance, all students have a chance to work in front of and behind the camera. As the class wraps up, we follow the work through post-production, as students edit together and finish the short film they created.
West Tisbury Elementary School
- Wednesdays, 2:45–3:45 p.m., starting October 23. Students must attend The West Tisbury Elementary School and be in 4th grade or above to register.
